Sea experiment of SOTAB-I was carried out off Joetsu where methane plume is being seeped from seabed using Wakashio-Maru of Toyama National College of Technology and installing an underwater mass spectrometer(UMS) for sensing the methane plume. Because UMS had water leak inside of its pressure vesse, we had to give up our exploration, although we could see the seepage of methane plume from seabed by an echo sounder just below our mother ship.
