Background
and
Objective
From last year (2012), by succeeding the spirit and style of the RIAM Symposium which had been held at RIAM (Research Institute for Applied Mechanics) Kyushu University for more than 10 years, we started the international SOE (Ship and Ocean Engineering) Research Exchange Meeting among Japan, Korea and China. Last year, this SOE Meeting was held at Osaka University, and it was announced that the SOE Meeting this year will be hosted again by Osaka University, Professor Masashi Kashiwagi.
The objective of this meeting is basically the same as that of the previous RIAM Symposia, providing a forum to discuss the progress of the research in detail, exchange information and know-hows in computations or experiments, and get acquainted with participants each other. As a principle, the meeting must be rather small in size but will be informal and friendly. Thus younger researchers (especially students) are highly encouraged to participate and the organizer wishes they will be inspired to study more and to be international, particularly through friendly but competitive interactions with students in other countries.

If you are concerned with the technical program and the presentation materials (Power Points) of last year, please visit the home page for the SOE Meeting in 2012.

Support This meeting will be financially supported by the Division of Global Architecture, Osaka University, but the total budget is actually not enough. If the financial support is a must for your participation, please consult the organizer in advance.

Accommodation There are some accommodation facilities available in or near the campus, but last year we had difficulty in the reservation of enough number of reasonable rooms. As a result, participants (especially from Seoul National University) stayed at a hotel. If you need support or help for the accommodation, please contact the organizer at your earlier convenience.

Application Please send an email to Professor Masashi Kashiwagi, with the following information:
1) Title of your talk
2) Name of speaker, affiliation, position
3) E-mail address, Tel and Fax of the corresponding person
4) Do you need travel support?
5) Other requests; e.g. hotel, the date of presentation

Note: Just attending will also be welcome.
Note: No need to prepare a written paper, Power Point presentation is preferable.
Note: Whether the travel support is available or not depends on the number of requests.
