Kitakyushu is a historical city, and one of the representing spots is Kokura Castle. Located near the Sun Bridge of Murasaki River, Kokura Castle was originally built in 1620 by Load Tadaoki Hosokawa. Reconstructed in 1963, it now functions as a museum containing a high-tech "Karakuri" theater which depicts the history of the region in film and animatronics displays. There is also a panoramic model on display in the Castle, which shows the castle town as it existed in the Edo period (1603-1868).
The City of Kitakyushu is home to many prominent Japanese corporations that are paving the way leading-edge technologies and innovative products. A number of fascinating tours are available where one can experience a first-hand view of production activities and product research and development by top-level companies in a variety of industries.

Voyager is a passenger ship with high-stable cabin which is controlled by the computer. You can enjoy the cruise along the Strait of Kanmon and the fascinating view of the Kanmon Bridge.

Space World is the first theme park of its kind in the world. It is the result of cooperation with the Space Camp Foundation, the home of NASA's Space Center in the United States. Within Space World is the campus of Space Camp, which was designed to train the scientists, aeronauts of the future.

Mojiko used to be a prosperous port town which has also served as a window to the world since ancient times. Many exotic buildings which once attested to the prosperity of Mojiko have now been revived. With its rich exotic atmosphere, Mojiko receives many visitors and is admired by its citizens.
