| Kitakyushu is a historical city, and one of the representing spots is Kokura Castle. Located near the Sun Bridge of Murasaki River, Kokura Castle was originally built in 1620 by Load Tadaoki Hosokawa. Reconstructed in 1963, it now functions as a museum containing a high-tech "Karakuri" theater which depicts the history of the region in film and animatronics displays. There is also a panoramic model on display in the Castle, which shows the castle town as it existed in the Edo period (1603-1868). |

It is the result of cooperation with the Space Camp Foundation, the home of NASA's Space Center in the United States. Within Space World is the campus of Space Camp, which was designed to train the scientists, aeronauts of the future. |
